RV PARKS ON FARMLAND IN KELOWNA

Due to the shortage of RV spaces in the Okanagan, Kelowna decided to allow up to 10 RV sites on farmland and ALR controlled properties.

Several orchardist added these sites to the farms as a way to promote Agri Tourism in the region and provide more RV sites which were desperately needed.

Well, now that a couple years have passed it seems that neighbors to these farms and small RV Parks are starting to complain about them.It seems that some of these RV Parks owners are not just using them for overnighters but have decided to rent them out on a permanent basis. This is not sitting very well with the city council and they are taking a serious look at whether to allow this to continue. They have put a stop to any future RV Parks and will be enacting new bi-laws to ensure that no permanent RV'ers stay in these parks.

It seems sad that in an area where there is such a shortage of RV spaces for tourists to use that a few are again spoiling for the many.\

We need all the spaces we can get and contrary to popular belief RV'ers spend a termendous amount of money and contribute to the city they are visiting.
